Easter Weekend

I've been in a not-so-great mood lately, but I wanted the boys to have a fun Easter, so....

We went to an Easter Event put on by a local church on Saturday.  They had an "Easter Walk" that told about Jesus' birth....

They also had a bouncy house.  Liam did that twice.

Not much going on for the under one year crowd.

 

Liam was the last one to do the egg dig, so he got extra eggs.  More candy.  Just what we needed.

 

I actually did an Ester basket.  One for both boys.  The green and blue ball was for Devin.  Liam had already gotten into it by the time this picture was taken.  This was his idea of how it should be arranged. There is a large orange ball at the bottom.  The grass is prominently displayed.

After church and a lunch of ham, sweet potatoes and salad we went outside for a few beauty shots of the boys.

Then Liam and Allen tried out the new ball.  While Devin napped and I rested Allen and Liam got in some deck/sandbox time.  Now Allen's taking a snooze.

Drama and Legos

We had a pretty busy weekend.  Allen had his last curling event of the spring.  Saturday morning the boys and went to a drama workshop that was held partly to promote the upcoming production of "Mary Poppins" that the local high school is putting on.  One of his friends from the play is going to be in it - one of just a few middle schoolers who gets to participate.  Liam was feeling shy when we arrived but he jumped right into the action when he saw his friend.

 They did improvised skits where they were statues in the park that came to life.  Liam was feeding a group of...rabbits (?) that followed him when they came to life.  Other groups played out their scenarios at the same time.

 They learned some of the choreography from "super-cala-fraga-listic-expe-ala-docious."

 I guess the live production has something to do with cookies shaped like stars, so they decorated some.

After the workshop Liam went over to a friend's house.  I went home and took a nap with the baby.  The report is that they went to the park.  Liam was disappointed that he didn't get more screen time since this friend has a WII game system.











Today after church we went to Wendy's for lunch with some friends.  I finally got some pictures of Devin in a restaurant high chair.

 Right after that we went to the library for another Legopalooza.  Devin needed to nurse so Liam decided he could handle playing on his own (Allen needed to work on taxes.)

 He likes to document his creations.

 Devin was too distracted to nurse much so he got into the block playing action.

 He seemed to have an idea of what the blocks were for.

 Liam was pretty excited by this.  Although when he realized that Devin couldn't actually put blocks together....

...he went back t big kid play.

 Like his brother before him Devin has a long attention span.

End of the Week at Grammy's and back home

I tried checking on my last blog entry and for some reason the pictures won't load.  I hope it doesn't have anything to do with starting a Google+ account.  Anyways, here are some more pictures from our trip:

 I managed to get a couple of extra naps, which was great.

 Liam took a whole series of pictures of Devin in his bouncy seat (which we took along, since he wouldn't go to some people and the ones he would go to couldn't hold him the whole time.)

 He was going for a certain facial expression, which he says he got with this shot.  It's the "I'm going to take over the world" look.

 On Saturday Liam got to spend lots of time with his cousins.  Grandpa took him in the morning and then Devin and I went over with him in the late afternoon.  We went to a nice park nearby.  These guys are not as into photo opportunities as Liam, so I had to take the shots I could get.

 Devin had been throwing up the night before, but he seemed mostly recovered.  He was finally getting friendly with people he wasn't used to seeing.

 Baby Sammy finally took a nap while everyone else played "Lion chasing lambs."

 Hey!  Now I can prove that I was actually there.

Unfortunately that night Liam started throwing up and threw up all night long.  We took a bowl with us on the way home and he used it to throw up in.  Thankfully he is pretty much recovered now.

 A little humor on the way home.  This box, inside a truck in front of us, said, "KNOCKOUT TO DISPENSE."  Makes sense, right?

 As soon as we got home Liam "hugged the house."  Then he started complaining about how bored he was.  It was kind of a rough transition especially since he stayed home from school the next day.

Devin seemed happy to be home too.

Visiting Grammy and Grandpa

Liam is on Spring Break and the kids and I are visiting Grammy and Grandpa.  We've been able to spend lots of time with the cousins also.

 Liam made a tower he wanted me to see, but I was busy with the baby, so he took a picture.  Boxes covered in wrapping paper make fun blocks.

 Grammy got in on the action.

 Devin is getting to know Grammy and Grandpa again.  He's still not sure about the beard.

 He's always up for looking at magazines.

 Or eating them.

 We walked to the local branch of the library.  Liam doesn't want to get behind on his screen time.

It was sunny, warm and very windy.  First day this year that has actually felt like spring.

 Mom and I took all five kids to Cosi.  We had to take two trips because we couldn't all fit in the car.  Liam and Devin and I hung out in the lobby while we waited.  It was the science-y-ist part of the day.

 Laser harp.  You could change the tones it used by pressing a button.

 Drum beat by picking up the heartbeat of the person holding the bar.  Liam danced around to make his heart beat faster.  He wanted his heart rate to be faster than mine.

 He wanted to be in the show about static electricity.  I had a hard time getting a good picture.

 The kid's play area was a big hit.  Seemed impossible to keep eyes on all the kids at once, but it was a pretty safe place.

 Ike and Cindy came to get the kids and stayed for supper.
