Liam will tell you about some artwork he's done at home lately.
I made this on my own. This is a picture of me in the window of the car. There are hills in the background, yellow lines on the road. I made this with thumbprints and marker for the hills. I also used pen to draw me, the window, the windshield and the hill outlinings. I was making this to surprise Mommy. The starting dot at the top is kind of greenish because I mixed yellow and blue.
I am following 1-2-3 Draw Cartoon People. I made this on my own. I did not need any help because it is easy. But I needed a little help because Mommy noticed that I needed to erase the accessory lines and darken the other lines. But this picture I did and it looks very good. Doesn't it?
This one was the first 1-2-3 Draw Cartoon People person that I did. This was the one that I did not erase my accessory lines. But it is still good. Isn't it?
This is on the other side and it's an older person. It's my second person head. I think it is very good, but I don't think I should have darkened that part of the face. But actually, I think I should. Because older people have darker skin.
We are at our CSA. Devin is holding his fist up by his ear. Daddy is holding Devin and Devin and Daddy and Mommy are listening to the CSA owner talking. This was two days ago - all the pictures that look like the farm. This was the first time we went to the farm in the spring.
(The CSA is getting started later than usual because of the cool spring we've had around here. This was the initial "get to know you" meeting that they have every year. It's a good time to connect with people we will be carpooling with and to see any new developments on the farm. Also to find out about any changes in procedures for the year. Everybody was amazed by how much Devin had grown.)
We are going on a tour of the field. I am bored. But I like listening. Then we went back to feed the chickens again.
The chickens aren't very hungry right now, but a few of them still want to eat. I am giving them dandelion leaves.
Devin is right in my back. I am picking a dandelion leaf while the chicken is looking at me. Because he wants the food. He is like "Give it to me!" But I am just picking it. But I will feed it to the chickens.

Liam's First Blog Post
Today Liam is going to help me write the blog. Unless otherwise noted the words that follow are his.
These were for my fake birthday. I had them for school because I have a birthday that is in the summer and we are not going to be in school. So I baked these and I cut them in half. There is extras, so I'm giving them to other people that I know. I helped put the icing and the sprinkles on. I mostly put the sprinkles on.
I am reading to Devin. I like to read and do stuff with Devin. We are by his play stuff. That's why I am doing stuff with him. I love Devin. He is my brother.
These are pictures of me and ant homes, bug's homes and other things with bugs. I tilted over rocks around our tree and found them. First I found them when I was alone, then I told my mom to come with me. Then my mom took pictures and we both found them. My mom told me that I shouldn't lift over rocks unless I can put them straight back where they belong.
My mom is holding my brother and she is under some trees. We were playing soccer. Devin is in the sling. I took the picture - right? (I can't remember if Liam took it or if I was taking a selfie.)
Daddy is holding Devin and he is hoping that Devin won't pull his place mat off the table.
I was laughing. I was eating fruit dumplings. I did not have a shirt on because I could get the fruit on my shirt and stain it.
Devin is sitting on Daddy's lap. He is sitting at the table with everybody else. He is trying to get the food and stuff that is on the table.
Devin is sitting in the stroller. We are at the parade. It was Memorial Day. Devin did not like when the bombs shot. We did not bring chairs so I was kind of mad. And we also did not bring drinks. But we went to Grounds for Thought. And then I played Connect Four with Katelyn and got raspberry lemonade.
I am looking down to see if I can see the parade coming. I cannot see it. I am looking the wrong way.
Here are the motorcycles in the parade. They are very noisy. A few of them don't have helmets on. They should have helmets on. I have Mommy's sunglasses on.
Here are the people that are pretending to be in the army. They are the ones that shot off the guns that Devin did not like. I was kind of scared of the guns. I liked the whole parade.
Me and Jonah are riding on the bicycle trail. He is having a little trouble with his bike. I have a helmet on. He does not. I am having a lot of fun. He is too.
I played transformers at Jonah's house. I also played video games.
Devin is looking down at the ground. And he is also in the stroller. The stroller is on the bike trail. Mommy is trying to catch up with us - and Jonah's mom.
(Liam and Devin have matching summer shoes. Liam calls them the "Matching Shoes of Victory.")
I had a lot of fun doing all of this. I liked everything.

Teeth and Such
Sorry I haven't posted here since just after Easter. I've been in a pretty crummy mood. Actually, the weather is gradually improving and we're just a month away from the end of school for Liam (yikes!). Way closer for Allen, but then he teaches a summer session.
If you haven't checked out my other blog lately I have been writing some there. You can get an idea of what's been going on in Liam's life, just remember that I call him Lenny and Devin gets called Linus.
Pictures:
Another creation with Kapla blocks at the library. Liam had to improvise with this one because someone else was using some of the blocks and this structures used almost all the library had.
Liam is reading pretty fluently now and can pretty reliably entertain Devin by reading to him. Current favorites include the Dr. Seuss ABC Book and the animal sounds book.
Liam and I went to see the high school production of Mary Poppins. A friend of his from "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" had a leading role. Liam really enjoyed the performance. He clapped along to the music and applauded wildly. He thought the scene where the chimney sweeps dance looked "easy" and decided he could do that part - until they stood on their heads.
It was a large cast. Because this was the last performance they brought out the stage crew at the end. Liam's friend is in the center, though.
It's finally starting to get nice enough to play outside. Liam has been wanting to play on his school's playground equipment after school for a while and we have managed it a few days. He i pretty cautious about climbing, but also determined to do it.
Dropping down from on high is a big thrill and can also be painful.
Not much for Devin to do yet. I'm trying to get used to putting a summer hat on him. He got sunburned one day in just the time it took us to walk Liam to school and come home.
I tried a selfie. I'm pretty sure I don't look anything like this.
I decided, since it was warm, to give Devin a little practice drinking from a glass. He was game to try, but doesn't really understand the concept.
It was a good day to get wet.
Devin will be ten month old tomorrow. He's still not really crawling, but covers a lot of ground by rolling around. He does push up with his arms and occasionally attempts "army crawling" but he has to be really motivated - getting to the computer usually does the trick. He has at least one top tooth that seems to be trying to come through. He's eating more "table food" now, as well as lots of purees mixed with yogurt. He really loves Cheerios.
Liam is worried now that his teeth are going to start to come out. He's heard stories from several of his friends at school about bleeding and pain and wants none of that. He's also not buying the tooth fairy story although he's willing to pretend and get money. None of his teeth are actually loose.
