Yesterday was Mary's wedding. John's too, but we haven't known him nearly as long as we've known Mary. In fact we've known Mary most of the time we've been in this little town. When I was pregnant with Liam she started helping us clean our house and she kept it up for several years after. She has been a great friend and helper to our family and we were so glad to share in her big day.
It was a somewhat cold and wet day. I commented that it wasn't really wedding weather and Liam said "But there could a be rainbow!" The sun did come out for a while, but we didn't see a rainbow.
Devin was interested in his surroundings, but we didn't really encourage him to express himself.
Mary was beautiful! The service was personal and meaningful. Everything was, of course, in excellent taste.
I'm not sure how much of what was going on Liam could see or understand. He's good at being quiet, though, even when he's loving on his brother.
I didn't know that Catholics observe a "pass the peace" time, but they had one during this wedding, which was when our friend Cathy took this picture.
And the baby accidentally got woken up.
A few leftover flower petals.
Greeting guests as they left the church.
We had some time before the reception. I realized that poor Devin had not been nursed for hours. I nursed him in the van, but I'm pretty sure he didn't get as much as he would have if we'd been at home. In fact, I tried a couple of other times to feed him, but he ended up short on sleep and milk for the day. He didn't complain though.
Liam enjoyed hanging out. He would have closed the party down if it had been his choice.
This couple won the "anniversary dance." I just managed to snap this shot. So cute.
We left a few hours early. When we got home we sampled some of the apple butter Mary and John gave as favors. Liam now says we should get some for him to eat for breakfasts.
When I asked Liam today what his favorite part of the wedding was he said, "What was that party called?"
"The reception."
"Oh yeah, the reception. That was my favorite part. Because of all the food."
