So just for the record, we are in the middle of some very cold, snowy winter weather. We were debating whether to try to go to church this morning when we discovered that it had been canceled. Instead we got a little extra sleep, took down Christmas decorations and shoveled snow.
A couple of years ago when we were putting Christmas decorations away I discovered a few presents that had been misplaced and forgotten on Christmas day. I got them out and had Liam open them as a way of helping with the disappointment of officially ending the Christmas season. It worked so well that I've continued it every year. This year we had presents from Grandma and Grandad to add to the opening. Devin is taking a nap and hasn't opened his yet.

| Liam was eager to help. He usually enjoys any project that involved organizing stuff. He was a little sad to see the decorations go away, but we had much less drama in this regard than sometimes. |
| While he was bringing this snow globe to me to put in the box he shook it and said, "Hey, there really was snow when Jesus was born." I said, "That's not real. It's just someone's idea of what happened." Then I couldn't resist adding, "They also weren't under water." |
| Sometimes the helping didn't go quite the way Liam was hoping. But he fixed the ornament. |
| When Devin got bored with watching and started to protest Liam figured it was because he wanted to help but couldn't. That's one way to think about it, I guess. |
| Considering what's coming down right now Allen will be glad the got a start on this tomorrow. School's already canceled for Monday with Tuesday looking doubtful. |
| The last presents of Christmas. This from Grandma and Grandad. |

| Thanks! We can always use puzzles. He's already started the first one. |
| And this from Mom and Dad - Allen and I. |
| I got it on a local "swap" list through Facebook. Liam immediately discovered that some pieces are missing, so we had to fess up to our cheapskate ways. |

Well, Devin's awake now and we got a picture of him opening presents, but the camera batteries are dead as a doornail and we don't seem to have any charged, so it will have to wait.
