Growth spurt and other news

I think that Liam may be getting ready to go through another growth spurt. Either that or he has just decided that eating is actually fun, and is enjoying trying new foods. He has been eating whole peas, drinking milk, and eating hummus on whole rye crackers. Also eating lots of the foods he normally eats a little of when I beg him nicely. Now he eats them without protest.

I don't know if there is a relationship between the two, but we've had a few better nights of sleep lately. I would have benifited from it more last night if I hadn't had a migraine, but I am hopng that it's part of a pattern.... The sleeping, not the migraine. I know those are part of a pattern.

Liam has been playing with his blocks so much that I actually have only been reading him maybe five stories a day. He is figuring out how to put the blocks together and also likes to play with the "cars" we made with them. He says "beep, beep" as he pushes them around. He still gets frustrated because he has ideas about what he'd like to do with the blocks, but can't manage it. One of his favorite activities is to take a block off whatever we're building and give it to us to put it back on.

You can just see the big tower we made in the background of this picture. Allen and I were dusting off our building skills!

In addition to the sign for "shoes," Liam has been making the sign for "all done" more distinctly these days. This is useful when we're trying to figure out if "uhhh, uhhh" accompanied by hand waving means, "more beats, drink, cracker, or get me out of here!"
