Today was the last baby shower for Benjamen Wise McCain. It was held in Gomer, and hosted by Aunt Shelley with the help of Aunt Kitty and Granny. After a few brief games came present opening and food.
Little Benjamen got lots of love from everyone including both of his Great Grandmas. He slept for a while, then woke up and wanted to eat. Thankfully some breast milk in a bottle allowed him to stay with the group. But he had to leave when he, well, needed a clean diaper. That was OK, since most people were focused on the presents by then.
Afterward was a surprise party for Aunt Shelley. She's 60! Preparations were made while she took one of her grandkids home. She admitted that the two who went along for the ride managed to keep it a secret until she pulled back into the driveway. Still, she seemed pretty pleased. We had to leave before the party really got started. It had been a very long day for us. Liam slept all the way home.
