Sale, Holiday Weekend and Recap with Cute Video

Yesterday morning I actually managed to remember and make it to the county Humane Society garage sale at the the fairgrounds.  I got there about 15 minutes before noon and bought a bag - it was $2 bag day.  It looked more picked over than I remember from other years.  Maybe I got there later this time.  It turned out that after noon everything was FREE.  I grabbed a ride-on toy Liam was interested in and some kind of toy involving a truck that was originally marked at $5.  It turned out to be a remote control set-up missing only a few pieces and still working.  Pretty good deal for free.  The stuff that I jammed into the bag was pretty unremarkable.

It's a holiday weekend and the weather is actually cooperating with those who want to spend lots of time outside.  We had a chance to spend some time with friends while grilling hotdogs and corn and playing games yesterday afternoon.  We even saw a large deer heading across a field in the middle of big city.

This afternoon after church some friends came over and hung out with us on the back deck.  It was very impromptu, so everyone brought their own food and we provided the table, chairs and shade.  It was a good time to visit and work on solving the world's problem.  Also, for Liam's sake, we worked in a round of "The Busytown Game."

As you might suspect after reading the last few blog posts the past week has been tiring and stressful for Allen and me.  On the bright side we found out that another person who's getting veggies from our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) lives about a block away, so that will make shared veggie pick up much easier this year than it has been other years.  Also, Liam was able to make it to his last music class (for now) and enjoyed playing a duet with the other boy in his class.  Here's a video of them playing.

We've enjoyed the class and I was worried that his fever early in the week would keep Liam from being able to go.  But though being sick seemed to mess up his sleep for the rest of the week the fever didn't come back.

So now we are hoping for a quieter and less eventful week next week.  Maybe we can even make some headway against the dishes and clutter that built up during this week.
