The Perfect Day

Not to brag, but according to Liam this was the "perfect day" and "the best day ever" and "the day I've been waiting for."  It was warm enough to go to the park (and he didn't have school to take up the time).  He tried another trip down the big slide, but it was too hot - the leaves on the trees still not having caught up with the warmth and sunshine of the day.  He spent most of the time in the sandbox, but did also swing for a while.

The trip to the park was even better because we got to see our friend Mary!

When we got home Liam was happy to try an activity he's been asking to do for a while now - washing the house.  It actually needs it - for some reason a green moss or mold or algae or something has grown behind the bushes in front of the house.  This actually seemed to be less fun than Liam expected, but then the neighbor boy informed him that they were getting out their water table.  Five kids five and under is a lot at a water table, but they all had fun.  They experimented with putting on goggles and putting their faces into the water, which explains the hairstyle in the photo below.

When his friends were done with the water table we came back home and Liam washed his play dishes and food on the front porch - yet another activity he's been pining to do.  He'd apparently had so much fun already that he didn't object too much to putting on dry clothes to go pick his dad up from school.

We capped the day off with the first al fresco pasta sauce of the summer.  Not made with local produce, but at least it was mostly organic.  Chocked full of mushrooms, sweet peppers, zucchini and tomatoes is just how Liam loves it.  He said he could eat it "for days" for breakfast lunch and supper (and even snacks).  At which point he figured he'd be so healthy he wouldn't get sick. He is, at this exact moment, reneging on his claim that he would happily eat it for snack, though, since he needs to finish what he didn't eat for supper before he gets more snack.

For me the suddenly much warmer weather was a bit of a shock.  I hope that I can adjust to it, or there will be fewer "perfect" days than Liam would like in his future.
