Growing Fast and More Family

This should probably be two entries, but while I'm at it I'll just post all the pictures.

Devin is already starting to outgrow his "newborn" sized clothes.  Not too surprisingling, I guess, he's long and lean.  The other day I pulled out a "3 month" sized outfit since it's the kind of garment that I find convenient for diaper changes and that allows the baby to move around freely (which seems to be one of Devin's big priorities.  When I was putting it on I thought "This is way to big," but when I got it on I realized that it's just way too wide.  Here are some pictures of him wearing it along with an early encounter with his play mat.  I predict that "tummy time" will be a much more regular event with Devin than it was with Liam because he actually seems to enjoy it rather than raising a loud protest the way Liam did.

Here he is in his 3 month sized clothes.  I guess it's not just us women who can't get "off the rack" clothes that fit.  The toys hang down over this play mat and Devin likes to watch them - especially if someone is shaking them.  Liam likes to do this - for a while.

He's still testing the theory that if he opens his mouth someone will put something good into it.

Or that if he moves his head around he can find something good and "latch on."  The term "latch on" is now a part of Liam's vocabulary, by the way.  Mostly it applies to Devin and nursing, but he has also used it in reference to Legos.

This is not a perspective trick.  The sun is actually leaning against Devin's face.  Liam thought this was extremely funny.

Thankfully Devin was very tolerant, but I moved it.

We got a visit from Uncle Isaac, Aunt Cindy, Benny and Ruthie yesterday.  At some point I'll get the external hard drive hooked up to this computer and find the picture of Ike and Cindy holding baby Liam - who was wearing exactly the same outfit.  Five years have brought about lots of changes in all our lives.

Benny and Liam quickly got down to the serious business of playing.  Ruthie was having allergy issues and needed a nap.

We did manage to get a shot of the three boys, although Devin wasn't into it.

Benny and Liam exchanged birthday gifts since they both have birthdays in the coming weeks.  Liam got a little confused about when his actual birthday is - especially when Aunt Cindy made brownies.

The boys got busy assembling their gifts with a little help.

When Ruth woke up she got her present for her birthday that was a few weeks ago.

The boys were eager to help her.

K'nex swimming Ernie.  Who knew?

Liam enjoyed playing with his cousins so much that he cried after they left.  We really enjoyed the food they left for us, though and it will keep us going for a few more days.

  1. As soon as we got in the car, Benny was asking if and when we can come back! He had a super time! Ruthie and Benny both slept on the way home, then we stopped for ice cream and they ran all around the landscaping at Culver's to get their sillies out! - (Aunt Cindy)

  2. I hope they are healthy! I didn't realize Liam had a sore throat when he woke up that morning 'til later.
